RoosterGrin Reminders App
Built-in productivity, designed for dental teams
Overview
Role: Product Designer
Company: Rooster Grin
Timeline: 3 Sprints
Deliverables: UX Strategy, UI Design, Design System Components
Platform: Internal web tool for dental clients
Tools: Figma, FigJam, Slack, Jira, Loom
The Challenge
Dental offices using Rooster Grin’s platform were struggling to manage day-to-day tasks like follow-ups and office to-dos. They either used sticky notes or clunky third-party tools that didn’t sync with their workflow.
We needed a lightweight, built-in reminders tool that was:
Fast and intuitive for non-technical users
Integrated directly into the Rooster Grin admin UI
Minimal enough to ship in under 3 sprints
My Role
I led the UX and UI design from start to finish, including:
Conducting discovery with internal teams
Mapping user flows and priority features
Prototyping and user testing
Extending the in-house design system I built for Rooster Grin
Collaborating with engineers on handoff and QA

Key Goals
✅ Reduce missed or duplicated tasks
✅ Fit seamlessly into the Rooster Grin platform
✅ Require zero training to use
Design Process
Discovery
I collaborated with PMs and customer support to identify common workflows. We interviewed internal teams and mapped out the highest-value use cases:
Task assignment
Due dates
Repeat reminders
Wireframes & Prototypes
Created quick iterations to test interaction patterns for adding, editing, and completing tasks. We prioritized clarity, speed, and visual focus.
Visual Design
Because I had built the Rooster Grin design system, I was able to move quickly and confidently when designing new components. We kept the interface minimal and readable, with inline editing, hover actions, and status indicators.
Accessibility and hierarchy were critical: even busy front desk staff needed to see what mattered at a glance.
Usability Testing
I ran lightweight internal testing via Loom walkthroughs and async feedback. Improvements included:
Shortcut buttons for “Mark as Done” and “Snooze”
Clearer due date formatting
Subtle visual grouping for assigned users
Outcome
✅ Launched in under 3 sprints
📈 75%+ usage rate among dental clients within 1 month
💬 Positive feedback from users: “It just works”
🧱 Reusable components added back into the Rooster Grin design system
What I’m Proud of
Designing a feature that blended invisibly into existing workflows
Shipping fast without sacrificing clarity or accessibility
Building with future scalability in mind (notifications, calendar sync, mobile)
